The glacier marathon meanders through the impressive mountain scenery of the entire Pitztal. Starting at the foot of the glacier, runners can enjoy the most beautiful impressions that nature in the Pitztal mountains has to offer. 

NEW ROUTE AND NEW FINISH SINCE 2022

he marathon starts at 8 a.m. in Mandarfen at an altitude of 1675 metres and winds its way along the valley road through the breathtaking natural scenery of the Pitztal, past forests, meadows and mountain giants, together with a manageable number of participants. From Arzl, the route takes a sharp right in the centre of the village, after which a new loop is run only as far as the sports field in Arzl before heading to the finish in the "Gruabe Arena". The marathon runners cover a total of 1035 metres in altitude along the valley river to the finish, with a gentle descent and 211 metres of ascent. The starting point for the half marathon is at 9 a.m. in Eggenstall, for the Run & Fun, which from 2023 will only be 8 kilometres, the start is at 10 a.m. in Wenns. New since 2022 is the 5.5-kilometre route, which is perfect for beginners and leisure runners and also starts at 10:00 am in Wenns. The half marathon and the 5.5 km run are without the Arzl loop and the runners come directly to the Gruabe Arena.
