Restaurant Sunna Alm - in close touch with sustainable Tourism
Scenic Restaurant Sunna Alm is the highest passive house construction in the Austrian Alps. Among the alternative energy sources of this newly built restaurant rank geothermal energy and solar energy.
The main architectural feature centers on a modern interpretation of the traditional Tirolean building style by processing only local wood. Alpine spruce wood was used for big construction components, the shingle facades are made of larch wood and a small, homey wooden parlor features marvelous stone pine paneling. The shingled walls are combined with large glass facades providing a light-flooded ambiance in the restaurant's interior, offering dreamlike panoramic views of the Pitztal mountain world only a stone's throw away.
