Taschach Alm offers Authentic Hut Atmospher

Scenic "Taschach Alm" is a serviced high Alpine mountain hut and dairy in the summer months, comprising wide open pasturelands within the Taschachtal side valley. Getting up early is the order of the day for the local herdsmen as the cows and calves, horses and a thousand sheep spend the summer months in this Alpine realm. A big part of the fresh milk is processed in the Alpine dairy on the spot, which produces mouth-watering mountain cheese.

After a scenic ride on the mountain gondola up to Rifflsee, it is only a one-hour walk to "Taschach Alm" along the newly built Panorama Footpath.

An easier way to get to "Taschach Alm": start at the glacier gondola's car park and follow the perfectly signposted walking trail.

Pitztal Mountain Cheese from the Taschach Alm Dairy

Quaint "Taschach Alm" is Pitztal's one and only high Alpine cheese dairy, and produces cheese, cream cheese, pot, joghurt and buttermilk. All these mouth-watering products can also be found on the menu. Especially the mountain cheese, which matures an entire year in the mountain dairy, ranks among the highlights and can be as well purchased.
