t Ingenuin and St Albuin parish church

The church, surrounded by a well-kept cemetery, stands on a hillside on the western edge of the clustered village. Since 1790, it has been connected to the two-storey baroque Widum by a high, architecturally attractive passageway. There was probably already a church in Arzl in ancient times. In 1358, the consecration of a choir, altars and a cemetery are reported. However, it was not until 1891 that Arzl became an independent parish (previously connected to Imst). Between 1750 and 1758, the old late Gothic church was enlarged and furnished in the Baroque style.

The ceiling frescoes were painted by the artist Emanuel Raffeiner. They depict the Coronation of Mary and the portraits of St. Igenuin and Albuin in the choir vault, the Annunciation of Mary in the choir arch and the Adoration of the Infant Jesus by shepherds and kings in the nave.

Nikolaus Krabacher from Häselgehr carved the altar figures and the reliefs on the pulpit's basket cheeks.

The colorful stained glass windows are also interesting - especially the 2nd window on the right. It shows the famous STEFAN KRISMER vulgo STÖFFELE - known both as a pastor and as a freedom fighter during the year 1809.

The Arzl parish church owes its magnificent nativity scene to Johann Schnegg.

Also worth seeing is the mortuary chapel, which is located directly in the cemetery.
