Start at Steige car park and hike uphill toward the farm. Then turn right and follow the trail in the direction of 
the sawmill/ toboggan run. Follow the wide forest path through the pine forest which will eventually lead to a narrow steep trail which leads through a romantic gorge until you reach the village of Imsterberg. Here, Gasthaus Venetrast invites to take a break. Hiking time to there is approx. 2 hrs. You can return to the staring point via the same route.

fishpond - Ritzenried hamlet

Starting point for this hike is the fishpond in Jerzens. From there, follow the road towards Kienberg until you reach a bridge. At the bridge, the winter hiking trail forks off, follow it towards Schönlarch and then the district of Schön (please be careful when crossing the country road) and follow the valley hiking trail to Ritzenried. Here you may return via public bus to the fishpond or return via the same route. Walking time: 3 hrs (1.5 hrs one way). Fischteich Jerzens at the start is an ideal place to have a break.

Starting point: car park beyond the Hotel Wiese, facing the upper valley to your left. From the starting point walk through a beautiful gorge (Kitzgartenschlucht) to Zaunhof. At the bridge, continue on the agricultural road along the Pitze river to the hamlet Pfurmühl. From there, walk to Zaunhof and the church. Above the church, a 
pleasant forest path with fantastic views of the upper Pitztal valley takes you back to Schußlehn and the starting point after Wiese.

If you are still feeling fit, it is well worth continuing on a moderately steep path to admire the waterfall [Söllbergwasserfall]. Walking time: approx. 30 minutes.

From the starting point at the Jerzens fish pond walk on a shaded forest path in the direction of Matzlewald. Return via the same route.

Rosengartenschlucht

The hike from Imst through the Rosengarten Gorge is a beautiful and varied tour. From the information office in Imst, to the left of St. John's Church, you walk along the Schinderbach stream into the Rosengarten Gorge. There you walk on a secured path through the gorge. There are always impressive views of the Schinderbach. At the bridge, continue in the direction of "Hoch-Imst". Shortly before Hoch-Imst you can make a worthwhile detour to the Blue Grotto. Then follow the path further uphill, past the natural lake, to Hoch-Imst. After the parking lot, continue in the direction of the "Wetterkreuz" and always follow the path in this direction, downhill. From the so-called "Wetterkreuz" you have a beautiful view into the Gurgltal valley. Then follow the hiking trail back to Imst. The Rosengarten Gorge can be visited free of charge at any time from about mid-May until the onset of winter.

Wald – Luis-Trenker trail – Wald

Starting point: Church in the hamlet of Wald. At the school, turn right and walk along the old forest road to the river Pitze, then turn right again to walk along the Luis-Trenker trail. Just before reaching the river Inn, cross the river Pitze and follow the cycle path uphill. At the top, enjoy the spectacular views of the Hochimst hiking resort 
with the Muttekopf mountain, the Tschirgant peak as well as the Ötztal Alps. Follow along the railway tracks and then turn right into a steep gorge along a steep trail to the hamlet of Niederried. Walk along the road through the village to return to your starting point. (Luis Trenker Trail is closed in winter)

Starting point of this demanding village hike is the car park by the church. Walk on past the mill (bread is baked and sold here weekly during the summer months) and walk upwards in several serpentines to the hamlet Egg. The secluded hamlet rewards your strenuous climb with a beautiful view of the valley basin with the villages Wenns and Piller. Take a shortcut from the access road following a steep path by turning off from the hamlet of Breitwies in direction of Haag. The beautifully landscaped path via Haag continues in the direction of Larchwies, then cross the Hochzeiger Road to continue walking on a track to the hamlet of Falsterwies. A somewhat steeper path leads up to the country road, which you have to follow for a short section. Once you get to a beautiful chapel, turn off into a farm track to the right. The track leads back to your starting point in the village centre of Jerzens.

Winter hiking piösmes towards Arzler Alm

Start at the bus stop Piösmes Scheibe. Once there, walk in the direction of Restaurant zur Einkehr facing into the valley. Then cross the bridge and follow the winter hiking trail on the left into the valley until you reach the fork to Arzler Alm. Then follow the groomed winter hiking trail through the snowy forest. Return to your starting point via the same route. Tip: The return path leads past Restaurant Zur Einkehr which is an ideal place to take a break. 
 

Hike from Matzlewald to Jerzens fishpond

Walk along the shaded forest road in the direction of Kienberg. When you come to a fork, take a left and follow a steep path to Kienberg. Once there, cross the road and turn left towards the Pitze river. Continue to walk by a flat and even path to the Jerzens fishpond. Return to Matzlewald by the same route.

Walk from the Matzlewald bus stop to the hamlet Matzlewald. Then continue to walk on the forest road to Kienberg. From the hamlet of Kienberg walk downhill to Jerzens fishpond. After a pub stop at Fischteich Jerzens return refreshed to your starting point via the same route.
