Rifflsee cross-country skiing trail

Access this trail via Rifflsee mountain railway (return ticket) up to the top station. After accessing the cross-country skiing trail opposite the top station of the “Hirschtal drag lift” a slightly steeper stage of the trail runs downhill for approximately 300 m before you reach the actual cross-country ski trail. Once there, you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic views of Rifflsee on a classic or skate skiing track. Please don’t forget that you are skiing on a trail at an average of 2,250 m and will therefore tire more quickly than usual. For refreshments you can stop at the “Sunna Alm” or “Riffelseehütte“ mountain huts.

With your back turned to the Nature Park Centre, this circular route starts on the right on a farm road in a southerly direction. Follow this road until you reach a fork, turn right in the direction of Harbeweiher pond. To return to the Nature Park Centre, follow the signs and turn left to follow a wide forest path.
Neururer cross-country skiing trail

After the start in Scheibe this cross-country skiing trail meanders along the waterfall circular route and then continues on the valley cross-country trail to Neurur. After a little loop return to your starting point via the same route. The impressive view of the frozen Klockele waterfall makes this trail a truly great “nature experience”.
Bichler waterfall circular route

This circular route starts at the Enger bus stop and leads on a slightly steeper tarmac road in the direction of the waterfall for a short stretch (ca. 250 m) only. Then a forest road with several serpentines takes you directly beneath the viewing platform. The platform can then be reached by climbing a simple steep path for about 50 m. Continue the tour along the forest path to Eggenstall. In Eggenstall you cross the street and turn right to the village Innerwald. From Innerwald you hike back to Enger to the starting point at the bus stop.

The Kitzgarten circular route runs from Boden all along the valley cross-country skiing trail through the impressive Kitzgarten gorge. Turn around in Wiese to get back to your starting point in Boden.
Eggmahd circular walk

From the starting point walk along the tarmac road for ca. 300 metres. Then continue to walk on the forest road and follow the signposts “Rundwanderweg Eggmahd“ and turn right. Take in wonderful panoramic views of the Tschirgant, Sechszeiger – Hochzeiger summits with the town of Jerzens. Follow this trail until you reach Eggmahd and then turn right in the direction of Obermühlbach. Please note that there are large rocks on the last 100 metres. A broad tarmac road takes you past the small hamlet Bichl and back to the starting point Langegerte.
Alternatively you can hike to the catered mountain huts Larcher Alm and Galfun Alm from Eggmahd which takes approximately 2 hours from there.

At the first turning for the Hochzeiger Mountain Lifts the path on the right leads to the Gotthardbühel.

The hike starts from the parking space Fußballplatz Arzl. Follow the farm and forest road to the left of the soccer field. At the junction follow the road uphill in the direction of Ostersteinsiedlung for about 400 m. Then return via the so called path Diemersteig to the starting point.

From the car park of the Rifflsee gondola cross the bridge and turn left to walk on the wide agricultural road up to the catered mountain hut Taschach Alm. Take the same way back to Mandarfen.
Beginner Route

This beginner’s route is ideal for those who dare to take their first steps on touring skis. The first few meters are very flat, which is perfect to get used to your new sports equipment. It then gets a little steeper and you get a little more feel for walking with climbing skins. Once you have reached your destination (Kalbenalmweg), you can ski back to the start on the piste, or you can take the Sechszeiger route and continue a further 233 meters in altitude to the mountain station of the Sechszeigerlift.
