Benni-Raich-Bridge - Wald

From the Bungy Stüberl (not catered in winter) car park 1 walk uphill to admire the gigantic structure of the new suspension bridge with a span of 137.7 m. Take a walk 94 m above the ground across the ca. 1.5 m wide bridge to the hamlet of Wald. Return via bus or via the same route. (20 minutes' walking time one way). 

Wood and meadow route Klausboden

Past the sawmill before Matzlewald you can access a forest path and after about 50 m turn immediately right in the  direction of Klausboden. Continue to follow the signposts along the forest road until you reach Klausboden recreational area. There are two options for your return route: return via the same, wide forest road (suitable for prams) or at the Forstgarten, by the small sawmill, you can access a wild, romantic narrow track following the course of a river. Over a wooden bridge and several wooden planks you return to a forest path. Turning off right here, will take you back to the original forest road leading back to the starting point. Please note that the second option is not suitable for prams.

Old road - Steinhof - Langenau - Wenns

Starting point is the bus stop Wenns Pitztalerhof or Wenns Gemeindezentrum (Civic Centre). You can reach the starting point either by Regiobus Pitztal or it's a 5 minute walk from the carpark of the church/churchhall. At the junction follow the road in the direction of the village towards the hamlet of Klöfles. From there hike along hte forest road or winter hiking trail in the direction of Steinhof. Continue to hike past the Langenau hamlet back to your starting point in Wenns. There are several pubs and restaurants that invite to take a break at the village centre (Gastof Pitztalerhof, Gasthof Alte Post and Rutsche Bark Pub).

Bichl circular route

Starting point: car park Volksschule Wald. Walk past the church on the left up the hill to the village of Bichl. At the fork, turn right and pass two chapels until you reach the Rastboden. Once there, turn left over a steep path to return to Weiler then continue back to your starting point.

Pitzenhöfe circular route

 Start your hike from the bus stop Pitztaler Hof through the  historic lower town with its museum, the historic, beautifully painted ‘Platzhaus’, war memorial and parish church and follow the signpost ‘Rundwanderweg Pitzenhöfe’ [Pitzenhöfe circular route]. Opposite the restaurant "alte Post", turn right and immediately left and follow the path until the  Pitzenhöfe hamlet. Turn right before the wooden bridge and follow the forest path to the St. Margarethen hamlet (Wenns). Continue to walk on the pavement of the main road to return to your starting point. There are several options to stop for refreshments on your way back (Pitz Park, Gasthof Pitztalerhof, Gasthof Alte Post and Rutsche Pub Bar).

Old road to Arzl

Starting point is the bus stop Wenns Pitztalerhof or Wenns Gemeindezentrum. With the Regio Bus Pitztal or within 5 minutes walking from the parking space Mehrzwecksaal you will reach the starting point. Follow the turn-off in the direction Siedlung towards Klöfles. There you take the forest path or rather winter hiking path towards Arzl. Once there you can either comfortably return to the starting point on the Pitztal Regiobus or return by the same route. Walking time from Wenns to the Timls turnoff is approx. 1.2 hrs

Circular route Steinhof

From the starting point at Kirche/Mehrzwecksaal (church/multi-purpose hall) car park walk for approximately 300m to the centre of the village. Turn right above the Pitztaler Hof restaurant and follow the so called ‘Alte Straße’ [old road] with fantastic views of Wenns village and the Tschirgant peak. Continue on this tarmac road to the next fork. Then continue on the forest road to Steinhof and further to Langenau. You can return to the starting point via the road. 

Hike from Falsterwies to Gischlewies

The trail sets off at Hotel Jerzner Hof bus stop and leads uphill to the hamlet of Falsterwies. Once there, continue on a wide forest road to the hamlet of Gischlewies. Return to the starting point via the same route. There are several options for a pub stop only a few minutes' walk from the starting and end point of this hike (Pitzloch, Restaurant Zirm and Hotel zum Lammwirt).

Hike to Waldweiher pond

From the starting point hike to Piller Moor until you reach the fountain. Then follow the signposts to Waldweiher via forest roads and idyllic steep forest paths to this natural gem, the Waldweiher pond. Follow the trail around the pond until you reach the forest road. Return to your staring point via the same route on the last section.

Circular route Piller

From the Piller Musikpavillon bus stop or the Piller Zentrum car park, this hike initially leads in the same direction as the Beckenhof circular hiking trail, but after a short while branches off to the left. Then there is a somewhat demanding ascent for ca. 500 meters and after another kilometre there is the possibility of making a detour of 400 metres to the managed fishpond Fischteich Piller. You can return to the starting point via the same route, covering a total distance of 3.5 km and an elevation difference of ca. 150 metres.
